One more thing I forgot to mention was you have to remove that piece of plastic handle on the right hand back of the tailgate as well. I did have some difficulties getting that out without damaging it too
Hope this is useful for people as it seems to be a pretty common fault based on how many of these are available on eBay and sites around the place
