Kruger National Park - Tamboti Satellite Camp

Описание: Welcome to Episode 1 of our brand-new Greater Kruger adventure series! Our journey kicks off at the stunning Tamboti Satellite Camp, where every sunrise and sunset feels like a gift from nature itself.

After leaving Johannesburg late morning, we entered the park via Orpen Gate, eager to start our safari. Nearly three hours in, we spotted our first elephant along the Timbavati River, setting the tone for an incredible trip ahead. We enjoyed a peaceful drive back to Tamboti with breathtaking views of the Drakensberg mountains at sunset.

Our day continued with fantastic sightings, including a hyena on the H7, a surprise leopard on the Mahlabyanini River—spotted thanks to a keen eye, Two male lions on the road to Tshokwane —and a chance meeting with channel supporters Ndhivhuwo, Lutendo, Mike, and Fhatu at Satara Rest Camp.

We explored some of my favourite spots in the park like Kumana Dam and Nsemani Dam, where elephants were drinking and crossing nearby. Booking a night drive at Orpen Rest Camp, we met our guide, Wonderful, who made the evening unforgettable with his stories, even though the animal sightings were few.

The next morning, a quick game drive along the H7 gave us some of the best sightings of the trip, including a stunning encounter with a bull elephant in musth, a beautiful male cheetah scent-marking a marula tree, and a nearby hyena den that offered a memorable 20 minutes of observation.

Just a few kilometres from Tamboti, Kruger’s magic surprised us once more with a puff adder crossing the road—a sighting my wife had hoped for.

As we prepared to leave for two luxurious nights at a private game reserve, we reflected on a trip filled with awe-inspiring moments and unforgettable wildlife encounters.
