Reversing Dryer Door - Maytag Electric Stackable Dryer
I guess these come from the factory with the plan that most folks DON'T stack them, so they default the dryer door to a right swing, to compliment the washer door being left swing. But in our case, we ARE stacking them, and want both doors to swing left against the wall. The dryer door is the only one that can be reversed.
Here I show how to simply disassemble the door and swap the striker plate and hinge to reverse the swing. It seems to me there could be an easier way to do it, but I suspect the engineers at Maytag designed it this way for a reason that I just don't fully know.
Kind of tedious to do this reversal, but it's just a bunch of screws, so it's not bad.
