Here is an example: Intuition at Work

I spent a number of years as a technical sales representative for a company that sold industrial colorants. I sold color. Yes, color! Yellow. Blue. Green. Red. One day as I was waking up I heard a voice in my head say “Bob needs yellow.” When I got into work I called Bob. “Bob, it’s Monica. I know this sounds very strange, but I had a dream that you needed yellow.“

Bob laughed! “No I don’t need any yellow.“ he said.

“Are you sure? Can you do me a favor and count the number of containers of yellow you have?”

Bob laughed again. “I’m sure that I don’t need yellow. Plus, I don’t have any orders for yellow.”

“Alright” I said, “but if you get an order for yellow product this week just know that my dream predicted it “

Later that week, Bob called in a panic. “I just got a huge order and I need yellow “

A couple of weeks later, the same thing happened. As I was waking up I heard a voice in my head say “Bob needs red.”

When I got into work, I picked up the phone and I dialed Bob’s number. “Bob, I know this sounds weird, but I had a dream that you needed red.“

Again, Bob laughed. “I don’t need any red” he said “I have plenty. I have five containers of red in the warehouse.“

“Bob, please do me a favor! Please go into the warehouse and count how many containers you have.“

After his experience with the yellow, Bob decided that he would check on the number of containers of red. He went out to the warehouse, counted the number of containers, and called me right back.

“I don’t know what happened, but there are only two containers of red in the warehouse. I need more red.“
