Jammu and Kashmir government started conservation work of the historical and heritage Shalimar Garden in Kashmir. It is going on jointly with the help of Jindal Vijayanagar Steel Ltd (JSW), a prominent organisation in the country. The entire damaged portion includes centuries-old paper mache work of pavilions, walls, paths, fountains, and water channels, that are restoring with traditional style. Experts are also using lime and different kinds of bricks, instead of normal cement and bricks to maintain the original look of the garden.
