Copper Clad Laminate , abbreviated as CCL, is a common electronic substrate material. It is a composite material with a thin copper layer covering one or both sides of a glass fiber reinforced resin base material. CCL is commonly used in the manufacturing of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). During the recycling process of waste circuit boards, it is generally necessary to remove the electronic components on top, separately crush and sort the motherboards, and then classify and process the components. Therefore, we use CCL instead of the circuit board motherboards for the recycling process, primarily to separate metals and non-metallic resins.
The entire process begins with pre-treating the CCL using a dual-shaft shredder, followed by secondary crushing with a crusher, and then grinding it into fine particles. The air classification process separates metals from resin fibers. Finally, an electrostatic separator is used to re-separate any remaining fine metal particles from the resin fibers to ensure a high separation rate.
Properly processed copper clad laminates can be reused as recycled materials. These recycled materials can be used to manufacture new CCL and other electronic products, providing an alternative source of raw materials for the manufacturing industry. Recycling and processing copper clad laminates can certainly bring economic benefits, especially in large-scale electronic waste recycling and processing business models. Through effective recycling processes and resource utilization, companies can achieve sustainable economic returns.
