Taking My Mom On a Color Tour Through the Upper Peninsula

Описание: My Mom has been begging to go on a color tour for years. So this year I decided to take her! Although we ended up being just a little bit too early. We still had a wonderful time together.
First, we cross the Mackinac Brindge. The 5-mile-long (26,372 feet) Mackinac Bridge connects Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsulas, serving as one of the longest suspension bridges in the world. It costs $2 per axel to cross the bridge, $4 total for most vehicles.
We then explore the Lowers Falls at Tahquamenon Falls State Park. Mom and I enjoyed a nice walk on a newly built board walk and shiny new bridge you can now use to explore the island. I believe it was only accessible by kayak/boat before.
After that, we drove around Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. I ran down to checkout Sable Falls and Lake Superior as quickly as I could. We walked to the top of Log Slide and saw some gorgeous views.
We then went to find my first troll! (I plan to find so many more!) Benny the Beard Fisher. It was so much more impressive in person! Thomas Dambo is an artist who makes these trolls all over the world. I believe there are more than a thousand now! All made of recycled wood. This one is located in Germfask, Michigan. It's hiding at the Northland Outfitters Campground. As of 2025, it was $10 per vehicle to park and visit Benny the Beard Fisher. Closed winters.
Finally, we cross Cut River Brudge. You can walk along the side and go down and under the bridge, come up and around, and walk back the other side. There is also a staircase that goes all the way down to the beach. I believe there are 232 stairs to the bottom.
