2018 Salomon Snowcross Relays - Trapp Family Lodge

Описание: The last couple of season’s Salomon has been testing out a pretty awesome race format called Snowcross. Snowcross combines running and XC skiing into one fun and exciting event. These events are pretty well established and popular in Europe, but are non-existent here in the US.

Salomon is trying grow the sport of Snowcross in North America and beginning last year have sponsored a couple of events in with large populations of runners and skiers. The goal is to build interest and get people hooked, and also to identify a number of race directors willing to pick up the torch and continue organizing events of this format in the future.

For 2018 Salomon teamed up with Catamount Ultra Events to host a Snowcross race at the Trapp Family Lodge. From where we sat it looked like everyone had a great time, challenging themselves both on skis and on foot in the winter woods of Vermont.

It'll be interesting to see if events like this catch on here in the US. It looked incredibly fun to us, and we were bummed that we had committed to doing photo and video instead of strapping on some shoes and skis and getting after it!

Definitely keep your eyes peeled as we wouldn't be surprised if more events like this start popping up at nordic centers around the country.
