On May 28th 2010, the night of the full moon when the Buddha's Enlightenment is celebrated around the world, the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order/Trailokya Bauddha Mahasangha changed its name...
We've been talking about doing this for over 10 years, and finally we got there! Our new name is now the same wherever you go, and it enshrines the ancient word for the Three Jewels of Buddhism: the Buddha, his teaching, and the community of those who live their lives by it and are changed by the experience... We are now the Triratna Buddhist Community.
On several continents many people came together to mark the event, including at an International Retreat held under canvas in Wales. Meet some of the beautiful people of the wonderful Triratna community as they celebrate their new identity in a blustery field in the Welsh countryside...
