Ramshila Hill and Temple in Gaya, Bihar, are highly sacred, located on the town's southeast side. The hilltop features the ancient Ramesvara/Patalesvara temple (originally 1014 A.D.) and is renowned as the site where Lord Rama offered pinda (ancestral offerings). It is a major site for pitripaksha rituals.

The Temple: The Ramesvara temple atop the hill houses idols of Lord Rama, Sita, and Hanuman. It features a 300-year-old Shivalinga made from rock crystal (sphatik), a rare feature found in only a few temples.
Access: Pilgrims climb 376 steps to reach the temple.
History: The temple was originally built in 1014 A.D.. A pavilion for rituals was added in 1811 A.D..
