Efecto Casimir y la Energía Oscura

Con el signoadecuado podría llegar a explicar la aceleración observada pues, si se consigue resolver la parte estándar del problema, la correspondiente a una curvatura nula del universo, el pequeño valor de la aceleración podría tal vez obtenerse de un efecto Casimir a nivel cosmológico, donde las placas serían ahora la curvatura o topología del propio espacio-tiempo y la diferencia de energías se establece para los casos con curvatura no nula y curvatura nula. El efecto repulsivo (difícil de obtener) se logra en algunos modelos supersimétricos. La investigación continúa y nos mantendrá ocupados durante los próximos años. De estar en lo cierto, las fluctuaciones del vacío cuántico, tan magistralmente interpretadas por Casimir, podrían ser lo que propulsa a nuestro universo en su expansión acelerada.
