The CARES Act gave us the $1,200 stimulus check. But people had trouble getting their stimulus checks, and many individuals did not qualify for the stimulus check in the first place.

The new proposal, called the Emergency Money for the People Act, proposes to give stimulus checks to all Americans above 16 years old who make less than $130,000 individually or $260,000 married filing jointly.

All Americans fitting that criteria would get a $2,000 per month stimulus check. You could be a dependent on someone else's tax return and still get the stimulus check.

You would also get $500 per child in stimulus payments up to three children.

The Emergency Money for the People Act would also not impact your ability to get other government benefits, as the stimulus checks would not be considered income.

But will the $2000 per month stimulus bill pass? It's unlikely, but there are some new programs in the video I talk about that can help you.
