Today we are talking a little about the difference between pitch shifting and formant shifting and when/how to implement these effects. specifically pitching down (think DJ Screw) and formant up (think frank ocean nikes) Although they both go up and down, pitch and formant have distinct properties that allow them to be used in different situations. The purpose of this video is to provide you, the artist, with the language to better express your intention to your engineer.
