In Malawi, women with cervical cancer can wait months for treatment — with only two oncology services nationwide.
At Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Blantyre, Doctors Without Borders works with the Ministry of Health to provide prevention, treatment, and long-term support. Many patients travel far, face stigma, and navigate care in an overstretched system.
Cervical cancer is largely preventable. Without urgent investment in screening, HPV vaccination, and treatment, more lives will be lost.
