Dupuytren's Disease In Rock Climbers

Описание: If you have nodules in your palm, most often along the 4th or 5th digit, it is possible that you have a Dupuytren's contracture (also known as Dupuytrens Disease). Dupuytren's is more common among rock climbers than in the general population. It causes stiffens in the hand and may make it harder and more uncomfortable to grip while climbing.

This videos shows a self-diagnostic tool that was studied with rock climbers to identify if a Dupuytren's contracture exists, it describes the questions in the study, and highlights another study that was done on twins – one who was a rock climbers and one who was not.

Although this video does not cover treatment (physical therapy options are limited) it does provide a background about the injury and a way that you can self-identify the signs and symptoms.
