Описание: An entry in the “A City” series: a day of drifting through Foshan, on and off the road, on Jan 11, 2022.

A French friend once noted, “Foshan feels like it stepped into postmodernity all at once.” This isn‘t just a view from the car window. In a single day, you encounter: fish ponds nestled against factory gates; a community park where folks sing the nostalgic ballad “You Are My Homesick Feeling”; and in the evening, winter-blooming kapok flowers that feel like spring. Industry and agriculture, nostalgia and the present, metropolis and village—all coexist without transition.

This jarring, poetic experience is rooted in history: Foshan and Guangzhou share the heart of Cantonese culture. Today, it functions as a decentralized “federation.” This video is a prose-poem of driving and walking, collecting the fascinating contradictions that define the city.

一位法国朋友说：“佛山很妙，它好像一下子就步入了后现代。” 这不仅是车窗外景象的切换——在同一天，你会看到：工业园门口紧挨着桑基鱼塘；街头公园里，人们唱着怀旧的《又见山里红》；而傍晚，红色木棉花在冬日盛开如春。工业与农业、乡愁与当下、都市与村镇，在这里没有过渡，直接并置。

这种跳跃的体验，深植于其历史：佛山与广州共为广府文化核心，古代同属“广州府”。在当代，它形成了一个去中心化的“联邦”。本视频即是这样一次散文式的驾驶与步行，收集那些定义这座城市的、迷人的矛盾瞬间。
