This is a remaster of an old cover I did years ago. But since it sounded like dog shit and because I love the song, I decided to bring it back. I actually decided to recover this over a year ago. I even got to the point to where all I had left to do was the solo. But I wasn't happy with the tone at all, it just sounded bad. So I saved the midi and decided to save for later. Later being now. I actually had no real trouble with the song this time. There was a moment where I thought I was going to run into the same issues again. Because all I had left was the solo and I wasn't happy with how the track sounded. But after taking a moment and changing a few things, it all fell into place. The big changes from the cover a year ago is the clean, low end, bass tone. And the excessive use of Flange Baby. Nothing over all special about the mix or master. I kind of did a return to form putting much more emphasis on rythems and drums. I'm really happy with how I got the vsts and synths to sound. And even though this arrangement is from a year ago, I really had so much fun creating the bassline and riff for this cover. Those two things are my favorite things to do when making covers, but I can only do them when the song is so bare bones like this one. I hope you love the drill press cameo. 1000 rusty pounds of mechanical sorrow. And now it's just sitting in the room. Spreading asbestos. I have no idea when I'm even going to move it back outside. And shoutouts Kris-Cross-Applesauce for recording the video. Goes without saying that the video is way better just because Kris was holding the camera.
