Trump Envoys Rush To Switzerland As Iran Sets Ceasefire Condition For Nuclear Deal Talks

According to Axios, White House envoy Steve Witkoff is currently on his way to Switzerland, while Trump envoy Jared Kushner is already in the country, according to a U.S. official.

The talks were initially expected to begin on Friday but were postponed due to escalating violence linked to the Israel-Hezbollah conflict in Lebanon. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is reportedly planning to travel to Switzerland, although those plans remain subject to change.

Sources familiar with the mediation efforts say Iran has made clear that a sustainable ceasefire in Lebanon is a crucial factor for the negotiations to proceed. Qatar, one of the key mediators between Washington and Tehran, has also stepped up diplomatic engagement, with Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani arriving in Switzerland.
