The less expensive extraction method uses a food grade ethanol to extract the cannabinoids.

The gold standard extraction method is considered to be the CO2 method .

Another expense that goes into the final price of CBD is finding reputable labs to test your product. If you are ever looking at a product and they can NOT show you third party test results, aka - Certificate Of Analysis (COA) of that specific product.... Not just one lab report from years ago or something else completely..... DO NOT purchase it!
