Abstract: The Teaching for PROWESS (TfP) project is aimed at transforming mathematics departments by focusing on active learning pedagogies designed to positively impact student learning. As part of TfP, faculty researchers have created the Observation Protocol for Active Learning (OPAL). The goal of this observation protocol is to serve as a framework for observing teaching of mathematics, with a focus on active learning, in community college settings. In this webinar, we will unveil OPAL and provide an introductory training for its potential use in a variety of settings.
