Be sure to pick at least 720p for best sound quality.
On January 15, 1992, Noam Chomsky gave a lecture at Chapel Hill, North Carolina on The Design of Language.
The source was a cassette tape transfer. Doubtless the cassette suffered from multiple dubs. It was pretty awash in noise (mostly removed with digital noise reduction), and either from problems with the initial recording or some difficulty in dubbing, the treble suffered badly. I added as much treble back as I could using experimental techniques, but this will never sound great unless a better master appears. Also, the two tracks were out of phase by about 1/10 of a second - I fixed the phase issue. As is usual, I went over the sound second by second, reducing or eliminating various audio flubs, and trimmed out long moments of silence from turning the tapes.
