‘Under Construction’ is a pole theatre comedy routine created and performed by Tiago Gambogi (Brazil / UK).

It showcases Tiago’s character Sergio who appears as a construction worker. Sent off to move “scaffolding” he discovers this is more difficult than he first thought. As a bit of a dreamer and not really captivated by his working role he starts to muck about on the poles and, in doing so, discovers his true disco calling!


This piece mixes pole, dance and contemporary clown with a nod to the physical comedy of the black and white silent film era.


Tiago Gambogi – ‘Brasilian Extraordinaire’ – is a male pole dancer and instructor at London Academy of Pole Dancing / London Dance Academy. He works as a professional contemporary dancer, actor, director, clown, choreographer and performance activist. He is artistic director of dance theatre company F.A.B. – THE DETONATORS, co-founded with Margaret Swallow in 1999.

Tiago was a finalist at Mr Pole Fitness UK 2015 where he also won the Best Costume Award. In 2014, he won 3rd Place in the Brazilian Pole Dance Championship (professional) and 2nd place 2013 (amateur). For more info about his work go to: www.transamazonia.wordpress.com
