Short Biography of Ven Geshe Lama Konchog

Venerable The Great Mahasiddha Geshe Lama Konchog is a highly realized qualified teacher and meditator. He became a monk at the age of 7 and studied at Sera Monastic University in Tibet. He received many precious teachings from highly realized teachers who have completed the path. While in Tibet, he also did many pilgrimages and retreats.

After leaving Tibet in 1959, he lived for many years in the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal. There, Geshela spent most of his time in retreat, sometimes in caves previously used by the great Tibetan yogi Milarepa. He has already completed 2000 Nyung Nay retreats (fasting retreat of Chenresig) and many other practices. Altogether, Geshe-la was in the mountains in retreat for 26 years. Through the power of his realizations, Geshela has been able to heal and benefit many people. For the past 16 years, Geshela has been teaching in Kopan Monastery in Nepal, and also in countries in Asia and Europe. On 15th October 2001, at the age of 74, Geshe-la passed away.🙏
