Hey Guy’s! Welcome back to my channel.
In today’s video I make Turkey Stock/Broth whichever you prefer to call it.
No matter that occasion we cook turkey we never seem to have enough of that rich stock that’s in the roasting pan. I always make extra so I won’t run into those problems this Thanksgiving.
When making stock the trick is to save all of your chicken bones and leftover pieces. Whenever I cook a whole turkey, which is actually more often than you might think because I love it. I save whatever we don’t eat to make my stock richer in flavor. When we have rotisserie chicken from Sam’s I save whatever is left and freeze it. Back in the day when more people were buying whole chickens and cutting it up themselves they would save the innerds and the backs and neck and freeze everything for when they needed stock. I freeze leftover onion, celery and carrot scraps because I know that eventually I’ll have enough to make stock. Get into a habit of making your own stock so you will always have some on hand and you won’t always have to buy it at the grocery store.
