Today we’re taking you along to our very first IVF-related appointment—or what we thought would be a straightforward pre-op visit.
What followed was half a day with diagnostic procedures, accessibility barriers, advocacy we didn’t expect to have to do, and a reminder that disability doesn’t pause just because a moment is supposed to feel hopeful.
This was meant to be a hopeful milestone, and while parts of it were hard and disappointing, we did make it through together. We’re sharing this because these are the realities many interabled couples face—and they’re rarely talked about.
If you’ve been through IVF, fertility treatments, or medical advocacy of any kind, we’d love to hear your experiences—especially your thoughts on PGT-A testing and genetic screening.
Thanks for being here and following along with us.
