In this lecture Dr. Blevins also discusses American settlement of the Ozarks in the decades after the Louisiana Purchase, as well as the immigration of thousands of Germans to the fringes of the region before the Civil War.
This course provides a multidisciplinary introduction to the study of the Ozarks region and its inhabitants, including Ozarks history and geography, regional folk culture and traditions, and current issues.
