Here's a project I've been wanting to do for a long time, ever since I messed up my own door. For a car this old, you probably don't insure it for things like this. If you want to get a body shop to fix it, the cost will be crazy. If you can find the right door with the same OEM color, you can easily replace it yourself, even swapping out the interior panel.
The job took a couple of hours, can be done with common tools, and even by one person (although it's a lot easier with two). The only problem I had was that it was really hot that day. I was also having some camera problems. A lot of it seems a bit shaky. Several times, my camera even shut down because of high temperature. So excuse all that, please. I hope this will be helpful if you need to do this job.
