See the notebook in this video? It's what is called a "kladschrift" here in Belgium. I guess in English you'd call it something like an "exercise book" or "first draft notebook".
In primary school we were expected to create a first draft of our homework in this lined notebook before copying it into a stereotypical notebook to be reviewed by the teacher.
The "kladschrift" would be made from recycled, thin paper and the trick would be to press hard when writing in this exercise book, 'cause that would make the pages crinkle and sing. Page turning through this exercise book was the most enjoyable aspect of the whole doing homework ordeal.
I didn't think they still sold "kladschriften" and when I stumbled upon one online, I couldn't help myself and immediately hit the "Buy" botton. The paper is exactly how I remember it.
For the past couple of months, I used the "kladschrift" as a regular notebook. Pure nostalgia. I'm still in love with the sound of these pages.
