Husqvarna 562xp case replacement and build notes. Case Assembly With A Press

This was the LAST 562 I build with strictly a no base gasket build concept as most would need lathe work to keep the cylinder flange from interfering with the cases, usually around .010" therefore NOT letting the base gasket "goo" gasket seal. ALL subsequent 562 builds I have done I have CUT the cylinder base .030, cut the cylinder flange .040" and used a OEM base gasket instead of a "goo" gasket.

Another note: Husqvarna offers a "short block" now for the 562's, so MOST of the cases should be scrapped and the new updated "short" block NEEDS to be used. The upgrades to the cases, bearings, and crank are absolutely worth the effort! Especially if the 562 saw will be used in a production environment.


Update 2021 , this saw STILL runs fine. For what ever reason I did not have to cut the "flange" to let the cylinder seal to the cases , was a "no base gasket, three bond 1184" build. Had figured out by then the heat was killing these saws so CUT the covers to let air out on the clutch side and cut a hole in the muffler baffle directly in front of the exhaust port. SOLD the saw this month (1-2021) to a logger who needed a "skidder" saw.
