Описание: Queen Venkata Rangammal, the Randoli of Sri Lanka’s last king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe, saw her fate sealed by a historic power struggle. Her portrait, painted by William Daniel, captures her regal presence, adorned in rich silks and jewels. However, her life was marked by betrayal, which led to exile. When the king was overthrown in 1815, she was brutally dragged from hiding, her earrings ripped off, leaving her bloodied. Exiled to Vellore in 1816, she faded into obscurity, never returning to Kandy. Once a queen of power, she is now remembered in whispers—a haunting symbol of beauty lost to fate.
