Описание: The Dhaka Metro Rail, or simply the Dhaka Metro, is a mass rapid transit system serving Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. It is owned and operated by the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL). Together with the proposed Dhaka subway, it is expected to reduce traffic congestion in the city. It is part of the Strategic Transport Plan outlined by the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA). Multiple-use MRT Pass contactless smart card of Dhaka Metro Rail which is also Rapid Pass compatible. The network is planned to contain six lines, with the first section of MRT Line 6 commencing commercial operations on 29 December 2022, and the other lines being either in planning or under construction. The construction of MRT Line 6's second section is scheduled to be completed during 2023. The third phase, which will have an interchange with Line 1, Line 2 and Line 4, is set to be completed by 2026. Further expansion of MRT Line 6 is planned, with the hope of extending it towards Tongi in Gazipur metropolitan and Savar Upazila.

ঢাকা মেট্রোরেল হলো বাংলাদেশের রাজধানী ঢাকার একটি দ্রুতগামী গণপরিবহন ব্যবস্থা। ২০১৩ সালে অতি জনবহুল ঢাকা মহানগরীর ক্রমবর্ধমান যানবাহন সমস্যা ও পথের দুঃসহ যানজট কমিয়ে আনার লক্ষ্যে কৌশলগত পরিবহন পরিকল্পনা প্রণয়ন করা হয় যার অধীনে প্রথমবারের মত ঢাকায় মেট্রো রেল স্থাপনের পরিকল্পনা করা হয়। মেট্রোরেলের নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থা ঢাকা ম্যাস ট্রানজিট কোম্পানি লিমিটেড। ২০১৬ সালে প্রণীত সংশোধিত কৌশলগত পরিবহন পরিকল্পনা অনুসারে ঢাকায় নির্মিতব্য মেট্রো রেলের লাইনের সংখ্যা ৩টি থেকে বাড়িয়ে ৫টি করা হয়। প্রথম পর্যায়ে নির্মাণের জন্য উত্তরা থেকে মতিঝিল পর্যন্ত ২১.২৬ কিলোমিটার দীর্ঘ এমআরটি লাইন ৬-কে নির্বাচন করা হয়। ২০১৬ সালের ২৬ জুন উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে এমআরটি লাইন-৬ এর নির্মাণকাজ শুরু হয়। জাইকা ও ডিএমটিসিএল ২০৩০ সাল নাগাদ ১২৮ কিলোমিটার দৈর্ঘ্যের মোট ৬টি মেট্রো লাইন নির্মাণের পরিকল্পনা করেছে। এই নেটওয়ার্কে ৫১টি উড়াল স্টেশন ও ৫৩টি ভূগর্ভস্থ স্টেশন থাকবে। ছয়টি লাইন মিলিতভাবে দিনে ৪৭ লাখ যাত্রী পরিবহন করতে পারবে। ২৮ ডিসেম্বর, ২০২২ সালে এমআরটি লাইন ৬-এর দিয়াবাড়ি থেকে আগারগাঁও অংশ বাংলাদেশের প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার উদ্বোধনের মাধ্যমে ঢাকায় মেট্রোরেল আংশিক চালু হয় এবং তিনি মেট্রোরেলের প্রথম আনুষ্ঠানিক যাত্রার অংশ ছিলেন, যা ২৯ ডিসেম্বর, ২০২২ থেকে জনসাধারণের চলাচলের জন্য এটি খুলে দেওয়া হয়। শুরুতে শুধু উত্তরা উত্তর (দিয়াবাড়ি) এবং আগারগাঁও এই দুইটি স্টেশনে ট্রেন থামত, এরপর ২৫ জানুয়ারি, ২০২৩ পল্লবী স্টেশন খুলে দেওয়া হয়। মার্চ মাসের শেষের দিকে উত্তরা থেকে আগারগাঁও পর্যন্ত সব স্টেশন চালু করার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে।
