Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean is one of those games that prove how great art direction trumps technical prowess in the long run - even 18 years later, its art still looks gorgeous. Yasuyuki Honne, Monolith's most prolific graphical artist, made his debut as director with this game and also served as art director and painted the map backgrounds himself (so basically everything in this game). Motoi Sakuraba's excellent soundtrack is merely the icing on the cake, so to speak.

While I personally mostly like the English voice acting, some of the actors, especially supporting actors, clearly weren't up to the task. Nonetheless, I still find it refreshing to hear other voices than usual for a change. The "metallic" voices during the first few scenes of the game must be caused by some sort of bug, because switching to "Surround" sound fixes the problem completely. This can only be done once we gain control of Kalas for the first time, though.

I always show all dialogue options. If I skipped an option, it leads to the same dialogue as the other option.
