John & Carrie Travel here with another excursion… this is the Natural Pool, Wildlife, Ruins, Beach and Lunch Excursion in Progresso Mexico. We did this excursion while onboard the Carnival Dream... see our cabin video here:

This little tour was a lot of fun, however, you should know that it is quite a lot of walking and it was very hot, especially in the mangroves. I still highly recommend it as we had a lot of fun and the tour guides made this one special.

It is about a 30-35 min ride to the first stop which is the cenote mangrove stop, where the video starts. It is very hot inside there, no airflow, you will want to take some bottled water with you... but you can swim in the cenote and there are places to change there. I think we spent a little over an hour at this stop and then we got back on the bus to head to the Mayan ruins, it is not far, 15-20 minute drive I think. I honestly cannot remember how long we spent at the ruins, maybe 45 minutes or so... then you get back on the bus and head to the resort location for lunch and beach time. Eat a good breakfast on the boat because it seems like a long time before you eat lunch.

EXCURSION DETAILS

Afterward, prepare to discover the history of Mayans on the Yucatan Peninsula when you visit the archaeological zone that features hidden treasures shared with you by your guide. The fun doesn’t stop there! You will then arrive at a beautiful private beach club where you will get a chance to taste the flavors of the included buffet and enjoy a courtesy drink. Guests are also welcomed to relax or play in the pool or sea. Enjoy a relaxing walk on the beach, lie on a beach chair or just let yourself be pampered by the team. After an hour and a half on the beach, the tour will return to the port.
