Casa Rural Spain 'La Finca' is part of Agriturismo Refugio Marnes'. It is the main building of the 20-hectare complex of the old Valencian farmhouse we bought 14 years ago. La Finca was the purchase totally stripped of all its charm and old elements. Now'La Finca' is again a comfortable house with three guest rooms that are all worth it. We have in the renovation tried to find a nice mix of old and modern elements and used 'earthy' and honest materials. Therefore, we have used steel, glass, terracotta, concrete and natural stone.

The three B&B rooms are on the first floor of the farmhouse. The first room has a bathroom'en suite' and the other two rooms share a common bathroom and are therefore very suitable as family rooms. Have a look at our website www.refugiomarnes.com/en
A countryside bed and breakfast in an old Valencian farmhouse

Casa Rural Spain Refugio Marnes has a front porch. This space was once used for drying the tomatoes, grapes, onions, peppers, etc. Behind this porch where guests now can enjoy a drink and we installed a reading corner, you will find the spacious living room with fireplace, dining area and kitchen. The latter overlooks a shaded patio.

On the first floor you will find the rooms of this rural bed and breakfast. Each room has its own character and we have put lots of care into the design in all areas. Each room has central heating for the few cooler months. Private or shared (with two rooms), bathroom and wardrobe and plenty of electrical outlets for phone or laptop. Of course´ La Fincas´, guests can make unlimited use of the perfectly integrated into the landscape emerald pool of Refugio Marnes.

When shaping agritourism Refugio Marnes we had in mind that our target group has an increasing need for originality, good design, and above all peace. In line with a great need for relaxation, we have chosen ithis place in the middle of nature. The location along with the highly favored climate of the Costa Blanca Refugio Marnes makes an ideal setting for a holiday and to de-stress. Alicante is one of the three counties' La comunidad Valenciana' or simply Valencia as this region is often referred to in English. It consists of the provinces of Alicante, Valencia and Castellón. The village where Refugio Marnes and La Finca are located is Lliber (pronounced Jiber) The first town is Benissa. Benissa is 20 minutes by car. Benissa are plenty of banks, supermarkets and other amenities. The distance from Refugio Marnes to the city of Alicante is 1hr and Valencia on 1 hour and 15 minutes by car. This makes Casa Rural and Agro Turismo Refugio Marnes easily reached from the two airports of these two cities.

Green & eco tourism as a basis for Casa Rural Spain Refugio Marnes

We developed Refugio Marnes as sustainable as possible and have made every effort to restore the buildings as much as possible in its original form. Further we provide in our need for electricity by a large solar power system. Without that our guests noticed we do everything to save water and we recently installed a system that produces drinking water for the whole of Refugio Marnes. Because of this we have largely dispensed with the use of plastic water bottles. For a year Refugio Marnes has its own water treatment plant that purifies the waste water so far that it is suitable for irrigation of plants and trees.
