CPR 6042, CPR 5003, CPR 2302 (Kootenay Valley Railway CPR A19) (23 cars) leads south through Castlegar after working the yard. This leg of CPR A19 is moved by the folks on the Kootenay Valley Railway, an internal shortline between McConnell (Kitchener BC) and Trail BC. The wayfreight is nicknamed "the hotshot" in spite of the speeds that they operate at on the line.
