5 Tips for When You Feel “New Relationship Anxiety”. One - Communication is key - if you are unsure about something, check it out directly, this sets the tone for openness and honesty. Two - Be Yourself - then if you are not a good fit, it will be clear to you both, and you won't be stuck trying to be someone you are not. Three - Boundaries - what boundaries do you need to feel safe? Look at your internal boundaries first, like how much mind space you allow your new relationship to take up. Four - if you know you are carrying past hurts from previous relationships, attend to those so you don't bring them into your new relationship. A great way to do this is with some therapy. Five - Inner Child - check in with your younger parts to see what they’re feeling and might need from you as you move into this new relationship. Moving into a new relationship is all about stepping into vulnerability. We often feel anxious when we become vulnerable because we risk being hurt.
