Описание: In a major policy shift, cash payments at toll plazas across India have been completely discontinued from April 10, as the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways moves towards a fully digital toll collection system. FASTag has now been made mandatory on all national highways and expressways to reduce congestion, eliminate long queues, and ensure smoother traffic flow. Vehicle owners without FASTag will no longer be allowed to pay in cash and must use digital methods such as UPI, but at a higher cost of 1.25 times the standard toll fee. Authorities have also warned that non-payment may lead to penalties, denial of passage, and even double charges in some cases. A new ₹3,075 annual FASTag pass has also been introduced for frequent travellers, offering up to 200 crossings. Commuters are being advised to keep their FASTag active, funded, and KYC-compliant as India fully transitions to a digital toll system.
