Donald Trump has announced he will today impose “reciprocal tariffs” on US trading partners in a move that deepens the emerging global trade war.
It means the President will match the United States’ tariff rates on imports to the levels that other countries impose tariffs on US goods.
Mr Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform: “Three great weeks, perhaps the best ever, but today is the big one: reciprocal tariffs!!!
