Skimmer type pools are pools which use skimmer wall filtrations and the water level is lower than the pool wall and coping. Skimmers are installed on walls to collect the water and all other floating debris which are collected in a simmer basket inside the skimmer. Water is filtered through the pool filtration system and pumped into the pool again. Usually, a pool needs to filter all of the water volume every 4 hours.

Skimmer type pools do not need a balancing tank and are usually cheaper than overflow and infinity pools and that is why they are the most common type of pools especially in private residential installations.
