Описание:
This is an excerpt of a tune by Guillaume de Machaut (c.1300-1377). One of the best-known composers in 14th century France, he left behind a large volume of work, much of which focused on themes of courtly love. It is sung in funky Middle French to the best of my limited ability.
It is performed on a viola a chiavi, a keyed instrument similar to the modern-day nyckelharpa; the instrument was made by Trouvere Music Works based on an early 1400s depiction from Siena.
