.NET is a platform for developing Web applications, Web services, Mobile Application, Desktop Applications, Windows Services, Games and many more. It supports different type of Microsoft programming languages like C#, Visual C++, F#, VB.NET, and also other Non-Microsoft programming languages. All these languages can access the framework as well as communicate with each other.
.NET compiler compiles source code into Managed Assembly. The Managed assembly is in the form of executable (.exe) or dynamic link library (.dll). The Assembly contains MANIFEST and Microsoft Intermediate Language (MSIL) code. The manifest holds the information about that assembly. We can read this assembly by using ILDASM tool and can also export it as a text file. We can also reconstruct the exported text file into Assembly by using ILASM tool.
