February 2019 saw phase 2 of work to complete the upgrade of Ambergate Junction in Derbyshire take place. This £13million project has installed over 2km of new track on an improved alignment with new signalling equipment and relocated the junction itself.
The work will enable line speed to be increased and combine with future journey time improvement projects to improve journeys for passengers.
