A reflection on the capability of Medieval European society to develop original, dynamic characters which could withstand the great crisis of the XIV while maintaining a pragmatic attitude and innovative strength.
In the video we deal with how Europe achieved the evolution, enrichment and overcoming of ancient models, and how even most of the essential features of the Modern Age were largely originated in the Middle Ages.
Among other things we also discuss spirit-matter, universalism-particularism, mythization and de-mythization dichotomies that characterized the European Middle Ages as well as the continuous political dialectics that stimulated/structured its culture and society.
