In this video, Jamie Hoenish and Grant Smith from the British Columbia Institute of Technology present Amber Dynamics' project of building an Autonomous robot used for security. The autonomous navigation requires precise localization both indoors and outdoors. In order to achieve this goal they have chosen Accuware Dragonfly which offers a very precise navigation capability using computer vision on a standard camera. This can be done for a fraction of the cost of a LIDAR, commonly used on robots.
