Presentation: "MTA's Light Rail Modernization Program"

Synopsis: MTA's Light Rail Modernization Program (LRMP) is an investment to deliver more reliable, faster, safer, and more accessible service for Light Rail riders. The LRMP is a more than $1 billion program of investments in light rail vehicles, signal systems, stations, track, and maintenance facilities for Baltimore’s Central Light Rail Line. The program will be delivered with multiple packages of work. The program has been split into four packages: vehicle and train control package, stations including replacement of the rail along Howard Street, Cromwell maintenance facility, and replacement of traction power substations. All design packages will be an alternative delivery method including design build and progressive design build to expedite project delivery. The program is expected to be complete in 2034 with the first new vehicles arriving in 2029.

Presentation: "Water Transit Strategic Plan"

Synopsis: The Water Transit Strategic Plan is Baltimore’s updated vision for the future of maritime activities in our city. Building on the 2015 plan, this new strategy looks ahead over the next decade to guide investments in water transit and ensure proper maintenance of our maritime infrastructure. Among the plan’s considerations is expansion of the Harbor Connector service, including new routes serving the Northwest and Middle Branches of the Patapsco River. The plan also supports the continued operation of the Harbormaster Office, which was relaunched in November 2024 after being vacant for nearly 6 years. Among the office’s responsibilities are management of 5,000 linear feet of Baltimore City Municipal Piers, collection of docking fees, coordination of maritime logistics for special events such as Sail 250 Maryland and Airshow Baltimore, and review of waterfront development projects and wharfage agreements.
