Описание: ISRA will host a special lecture commemorating the life and legacy of my beloved teacher Ustaadhul Asaatidha (teacher of teachers), Shaykh Mawlana Mohamed Ismail Dhodhat (July 5, 1948 - April 16, 2024), who was a senior teacher at Darul Uloom Zakariyya, South Africa. Lectures like this serve as a poignant reminder of the rich heritage embodied by such luminous figures who lived with a profound love for Allah.

Imam Sufyan al-Thawri - May Allah have mercy on him:
‎”عند ذكر الصالحين تنزل الرحمة.”
“When the righteous are mentioned, mercy of Allah descends.”

Muhammad Ibn Yunus:
‎”ما رأيت للقلب أنفع من ذكر الصالحين.”
“I have seen nothing more beneficial to the heart than the mention of the righteous.”

Imam Ibn al-Jawzi - May Allah have mercy on him:
‎”رأيت الاشتغال بالفقه وسماع الحديث لا يكاد يكفي في صلاح القلب، إلا أن يمزج بالرقائق والنظر في سير السلف الصالحين. لأنهم تناولوا مقصود النقل، وخرجوا عن صور الأفعال المأمور بها إلى ذوق معانيها والمراد بها.”
“I have found that engaging in jurisprudence and hearing hadiths are hardly sufficient for rectifying the heart, unless mixed with heart-softening narratives and examining the biographies of the righteous predecessors. For they grasped the purposes of the transmitted texts, moving beyond mere actions to appreciate their meanings and intentions.”

Hamdun al-Qassar - May Allah have mercy on him:
‎”من نظر في سير السلف عرف تقصيره وتخلفه عن درجات الرجال.”
“Whoever studies the lives of the predecessors understands his shortcomings and how he lags behind the ranks of the pious men [of the past].”
