Troubleshoot SVCHOST.exe performance problems in 5 minutes

Описание: Open Windows Resource Monitor, locate the PID of the executable having the issue. When you see SVCHOST.exe, locate the specific PID # and then open command prompt. Type 'tasklist /svc' then locate the PID and look for the group of services. Type 'sc stop ServiceName' for each service name in the list under the trouble PID. Watch performance monitor graphs at same time and you will see the problem cease when you stop the service which is having the effect. Now you can troubleshoot that service further, and instantly stop the negative effect of the issue.

SVCHOST.exe problems ARE NOT necessarily viruses! I see many cases of various types of updates through services causing major performance issues which never go away until the issue with the windows service is properly sorted out.
