During the Southern Campaign of the American Revolution (1780 - 1781), thousands of people on both sides of the political spectrum were displaced from their homes as armies moved through and fought in their towns. This was my fourth time attending the Battle of Cowpens annual reenactment at the National Park Service site in Gaffney, South Carolina.
My friends Brett (IG: 18thCenturyTailor) and Jayme have both been featured on the 18th Century Guide before. We love to create portrayals of the underrepresented stories of the American Revolution. One of those is the story of the people who weren’t part of the army. The people who left their homes for safety...refugees. Who may not have a home to return to.
I apologize for the background talking! This was my first time filming audio at a busy reenactment. There were THOUSANDS of visitors!! We had a wonderful time speaking with the public and hope you enjoy learning about American Revolution refugees.
