Описание: This MorningWARNING: CONTAINS POTENTIAL CORONATION STREET SPOILERS Paula Martin (Stirling Gallacher) Is back with a bang on Coronation Street. Her return creates more turbulence than a high wind in Jamaica. The high-flying lawyer, last seen acting for Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor), comes back to Corrie to represent Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) in his court case. No sooner is Martin back on the cobbles than she is in the thick of multiple storylines. In a major plot development, she is reconciled with Metcalfe's daughter Sophie (Brooke Vincent). Gallacher, 48, who has also starred as Jennifer in The Office and Margaret, the Prime Minister's wife, in Little Britain, reveals that her character has deeply regretted being apart from Sophie. "Paula has really missed being with Sophie. "While she hadn't pinned down how it would happen or if it was indeed possible, I think she had thought at length about the possibility of them reuniting in the time they were apart." "I think they are a good, but unobvious match and, in lots of ways, it would be fascinating to watch them evolve." It emerges, however, that Martin may be involved in something far darker. She is startled when she bumps into Jan Lozinski (Piotr Baumman) as he is chatting to Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver), with whom he is enjoying a budding romance. The Polish builder may well be enmeshed in a murky people trafficking ring. Is Martin in some way complicit in this appalling criminal activity, which is transporting vulnerable youngsters to the UK to work as slaves? Is she assisting the gang by finding legal loopholes? Or is she secretly co-operating with the authorities to smash the ring and free the captive youngsters? Whatever the characters' connection, Gallacher discloses that Martin is truly shocked when she sees Lozinski in Weatherfield. "She knows Jan in a professional capacity and is very compromised by him living in such close proximity." The actress, who in 2007 won the Best On-Screen Partnership gong at the British Soap Awards with her real-life husband and Doctors co-star Sean Gleeson, proceeds to explain how Martin feels when Grimshaw talks to her about Lozinski and clearly doesn't know the full story about him. According to Gallacher, "Paula is very worried and is extremely uncomfortable and must be very careful what she says, as the situation is beyond delicate."
