The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has released a list of 18 centrally protected monuments that the ASI wants to remove as they no longer hold national importance. Last year, the Ministry of Culture had submitted a list of 24 untraceable monuments to a parliamentary committee. These 18 names match the list.
The monuments that have been made for removal include Kos Minar No. 13 in Mujesar village in Haryana, Bara Khamba cemetery in Delhi, Gunner Barkill's tomb in Rangoon, Jhansi, cemetery at Gau Ghat in Lucknow and Telia Nala Buddhist ruins (which is part of a deserted village in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh).
